How to trim a video
- Drop in an MP4 or MOV.
- Drag the two handles to the part you want to keep. The video jumps to whichever handle you move.
- Press Trim. The clip downloads straight away.
Questions people ask
Does trimming lose quality?
No. The clip is identical to the original — same picture, same sound.
Why did the start move slightly?
A video can only be cut cleanly at certain points, usually a second or two apart. The marks under the scrubber show where those are, so you can put the start exactly on one if it matters.
Why is it so much faster than other trimmers?
Because nothing is rebuilt — it takes about as long as reading the file.
Which files can I use?
MP4 and MOV, which covers phone recordings, most cameras and most downloads. MKV, AVI and WMV will not work — browsers cannot read those containers.
How big a file can I trim?
The limit is your device, not us. Phone recordings and most downloads are fine. Very large files may run out of memory.
Is my video uploaded?
No. It stays on your device — it even works with the Wi-Fi off.
